Welcome

I'm middle school English Language Arts teacher at a suburban school. I am in my fourth year of teaching and will use this blog to reflect on best practices. Though I am young, I am constantly working on tried and true strategies, taking classes and professional development to keep on top of the profession. I learn and apply new ideas carefully, but quickly. I'll reflect on the outcomes on this blog. 

Jim Burke and Nancie Atwell are two of my favorite teacher gurus for professional books about best practices for teaching reading and writing. I'll be sure to comment on the professional literature in here as well as share ideas about what works in education from the trenches.
